Guj: protest against PVT affiliates from the Grant-in-Aid Colleges

Ahmedabad: Member of the Gujarat State Professor Association has decided to protest college in an effort to voice their concerns about Gujarat Private University (Amendment) Act 2021 which was continued earlier this year.
On Wednesday, some professors were wearing black ribbons on their arms to work around 300 universities in all states as a sign of protests, according to media statements by the Gujarat state professor association.
Association members argue that a new set of rules will make education more expensive and give way to further privatization of the education sector.
The new law, passed in the State Assembly earlier this year, made changes in Gujarat 2009 private universities where private universities, which are not permitted to affiliate with grant colleges, can now do it.
However, university colleges and grants for affiliations must be carried out by the same management or guardian.
The association has stated that if the amendment is carried out, the costs of the Grant-in-AID college provide education at the level of concession can increase.
This will make this college unreachable for the middle class and weaker than society.
Also, this can be cooked to risk faculty members employed by college grants and lead tokun in other benefits received by them, they said in a statement.
Members of the State Association and several members of the Federation of the entire Federation of Universities and Lecture Teachers (AIFUctTo) have raised these problems in the letter sent to Gujarat Governor.
Members of this association demanded that the government return to the previous rules in which university grants were not allowed to be affiliated with private universities.
