Gandhinagar: Minister of Chief Gujarat Vijay Rupani announced a assistance plan to industrial and MSME units in the state that had been influenced by the second wave of Covid-19 cases.
A meeting was chaired by Primary Minister Vijay Rupani, with the chairman and director of GIDC and the Secretary of the Head of the Ministry of Industry and Mines.
Prior to this, the minister’s chairman has announced the ‘Atmanirbhar’ package of 14,000 crore, after the first wave of Covid-19, to increase the economy by reviving the industry and trade.
Under this package, 31,166 industrialists received benefits worth RS 407.72 Crore under 14 schemes from GIDC.
The Industrial Association, Gujarat and FIA’s Chamber of Commerce and FIA proposed to the Presidential Minister Vijay Kupani that this package must be re-introduced to the industry for the second wave of Covid cases as well.
GIDC has announced four schemes driven by policies in this regard.
This scheme will benefit 2,544 beneficiaries throughout the state to RS 497.26 Crore tone.
Share details about this scheme, Gidc N Thennarasan executive director said that it was decided to provide economic incentives to industrialists, for example the deadline for industrialists to start production, namely the moratorium period will be extended for another year without collecting non-use of penalty.
According to this, industrialists whose time limits to start production ends on 2021-22 will get extensions of up to 2022-23 i.e.
Until March 2023, without collecting a penalty that was not used.
Because this decision, industrialists will get more time to use property and will be free from payment of free penalties from around Rs 16.70 Crore.
About 672 parties will benefit from this.
The soul of industrial plantations that did not benefit from extended deadlines for the use based on previous policies and those provided benefits until March 2022 will also get an extension until March 2023.
Under this policy, 1,656 industrialists like that will get benefits worth around RS 350 Crore.
