Palanpur: Two people were killed when an autorickshaw on fire after crushed between two trucks near Deesa town of Banskantha district of Gujarat on Friday, police said.
The incident took place on the highway-Palanpur Deesa near Bhoyan village in the morning hours, Inspector M J J Chaudhary from Deesa Rural police said.
Nadeem charred body of an autorickshaw driver Chandel separated from the debris after the local fire brigade dousing the flames, which totally destroyed the tricycle and partially damaged the truck, the official said.
Suresh Thakor (15) was seriously injured after he fell in the street after a truck hit an autorickshaw, and died on the way to hospital, he said.
“A car, autorickshaw and a truck was waiting at the intersection of the median to go to the opposite side of the state highway.

Autorickshaw crushed between the two trucks, while the car turned turtle in the divider, he said.
“According to eyewitnesses, the autorickshaw caught fire immediately after the accident, an autorickshaw driver and a passenger were killed in the crash, while the three occupants of the car suffered minor injuries” the official said.
Based on a complaint filed by the driver of the car, Deesa Rural police have registered an FIR under Section 304-A (causing death by negligence) of IPC against the wrong truck driver, who fled from the scene, he added.
