Gujarat: 95% of registered unemployment is educated

Ahmedabad: Even though the Gujarat government has claimed that the state has the lowest unemployment rate in this country, the official number revealed that on March 202, there were more than four lakh unemployed people registered with government institutions.
Significantly, only 5% of these unemployed people are semi-literate.
Responding to the question by Khedbrahma MLA Ashwin Kotwal in the Monsun session that was recently concluded from the Gujarat Assembly, the state government told that 4,06,007 people had registered for work with the state government.
Of these, 3,85,506 was educated while only 20,501 semi-literate.
The state government in the past few months has claimed that the unemployment rate of Gujarat is the lowest in this country and that great employment opportunities are given to young people.
In his pre-independence day speech this year, former CM Vijay Rupani said that the unemployment rate in Gujarat was only 1.8%, the lowest in this country.
Previously, on August 6 this year, quoting the employment of trade unions and employment ‘proof of employment statistics-2018’, the Secretary of the Head of Labor and Employment Anju Sharma said that Gujarat was in providing work.
Gujarat has a 2.2% lowest unemployment rate.
The Directorate of Employment and Training (DET) that functions under the Department of Manpower and Work, is the Nodal Agency that registered young people for work in the state.
At present, 48 job exchanges function under det, which coordinate with prospective entrepreneurs in getting jobs for those who have registered in employment exchanges.
In a written reply to a question that is not sued, the government says that based on demand carried out by those who offer work, registered candidates with recommended details.
