Gujarat: After a drop, a 25% surge in a daily COV case

Ahmedabad: Gujarat in 24 hours recorded 8,338 new Covid cases, a 25% increase in a day compared to 6,679 on Monday.
The case on Monday represents a 29% decline in a day.
The State Health Department official said that surges can be explained in the context of marriage and other public events held over the past few days, which increases overall testing.
Eight city corporations accounted for 66% or two thirds of everyday cases, while the remaining Gujarat accounted for one third of the case at 2,796.
However, cities contributed 55% of the deaths – 21 of 38.
It was the highest counting of daily deaths in seven months and the fifth consecutive day of the 30 deaths of Covid patients.
Ahmedabad contributed 32% of everyday cases and recorded a 13% increase at 2,654.
Of the eight cities, four recording rises in the case and the rest, fall.
Of the 166 deaths recorded over the past five days, 36 registered in Ahmedabad.
