Vadodara: When Divya Soni lost her husband and his father-in-law in the 10-day range to Covid-19 in May, many of them would be broken down or become dependent.
Instead, he stepped into her husband’s shoes and took over his business.
Divya Ashish Soni’s husband (45) died on May 6 and his father Ramesh Soni died on May 16.
Ashish is the only member of a family income who lives in Godhra.
Ashish has a peripheral wholesale business and computer spare parts busy in Dahod.
Divya (39) who is a housewife will not imagine that one day she must manage her husband’s business.
“It’s difficult at first.
I started learning gradually and had a handle on business now,” he said.
The widow said that he did not want to take over the work or other work now.
“While I have to go to Dahod, this business offers me a timing flexibility.
I can focus on home too,” he said.
Divya left Godhra every morning and returned at night.
“We have good employees in stores that take care of things.
In fact, they have taught me a lot and I can rely on them,” he said.
Many people who take material on credit also make sure they pay back.
“Most of the delayed bills have been resolved and people are very cooperative,” Divya said.
Divya began working about a month back.
Initially, some female family friends used to accompany her to Dahod.
After he was confident, he began traveling alone.
