Dethli (Becharaji): They say the best gift you can give to future generations is water.
But credit must be given to the residents of water hungry from a small hamlet side by side with the famous Bahucharaji temple in Mehsana.
They took this message a step more advanced and created a legacy for generation to generation to see – an oasis in their once-horn deserts.
Dethali, a village with a population of around 1,300, woke up to a stench of decaying waste from a very muddy lake and breaking the limit of up to two decades ago.
But soon, life finding ways and villagers to create a watering hole not only to fill their own lungs, but to breathe life to Flora and Faunnya too.
An oasis that really stretches in 30 hectares is full of nine crore liters of water that keeps the surface water remain intact and refills several water bodies.
Bird-friendly lake design attracts almost 150 different species of birds that have changed Dethli to be a mini bird asylum in a unique way.
In fact, 17 small water bodies around the village, have also been restored.
So, what instills life on this hard ground.
Meanwhile is the persistence of villagers and some indigenous people settled abroad, rejuvenation was inspired by Jain Muni Jambuvijaji Maharaj scholars, a polyglot, who controlled 18 languages, and a passionate repetition of Jeevdaya or animal welfare.
He is a native village.

The village fell on the birds migrated, but none came here because the lake was very muddy.
My father Somchand Shah started Desilting Lake work and with the help of villagers and the Ministry of Forestry, the work was completed in the first decade of the 21st century.
“Shah added,” We have developed an eco-natural system for developing birds.
We also make three islands on the lake to nest birds , creating a natural chabutaro for poultry of water and pasterin birds.
“The regeneration process begins through the conservation of biodiversity – the Destiltation of the lake, eliminating encroachment on and around it and works on building embankments to store water in a modern scientific way.
Wildlife Guests Priyvrat Gadhvi, who helped villages in this project said, “This effort is a good example of community-based environmental actions, which leads to Win-Win’s scenario for people and the natural world.
Lake recovery has ensured that the area is a paradise Growing for bird life and biodiversity microcosm.
