Letter: Activist Wing-Wing Bajrang Dal on Monday took and burned a large Flex banner announcing the “Pakistani Food Festival” to be arranged at a restaurant in a letter in Gujarat, a senior office visitor and claimed that the restaurant concerned had received “error”.
Banners put up on a housing of the building, the restaurant in the ring road area was revealed and set a flame in the middle of “Jai Shri Ram.” The food festival should be held at the ‘Taste of India’ restaurant between December 12-22.
South Gujarat Bajrang Dal President Devisorrasad Dubey said member activists lowered flexible banners from the building and burned it because they opposed such events.
“We ensure that such festivals are not organized in that restaurant.
There is no such festival to be tolerated.
The restaurant has received its mistake,” he said.
Sandeep Dawar from the ‘Sugar N Spice Restaurants’, which operates ‘Taste of India,’ say they will continue to serve Mughlai cuisine and will attack the word “Pakistan” from the food festival because of hurting the sentiments of several people.
“We will not use the word ‘Pakistan’ again at the food festival because it hurts a few sentiments.
When we use that word we feel that some people might not like it, but we don’t know it will change like that.
