Ahmedabad: Gujarat BJP Mla Asha Patel died on Sunday while undergoing treatment for dengue fever at the hospital in Ahmedabad, party colleagues got information.
MLA 44 years old from the Unja Assembly Constituency in the Mehsana District died at Zydus Hospital where he was in the support of the ventilator after being received on Friday night, they said.
“I told you with deep sadness that Unja Mla Asha Patel was no longer with us.
He was accepted at Zydus Hospital in Ahmedabad for the care of dengue fever, but the seriousness of the case in such a way that even though it was the best effort by the team of doctors, he could not be saved,” The former Deputy Minister Nitin Patel told reporters.
The remnants of mortal will be taken to Unja and stored in the market page for the public to pay for his last tribute and ceremony will be held at Siddhpur Crematorium on Monday, he added.
In a statement, Gujarat BJP said Patel suffered from dengue fever immediately after returning from Delhi and he lost his fight against disease on Sunday.
The State Assembly speaker Rajendra Trivedi said Patel suffered several organ failures.
