Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani lays foundation stone of projects in Rajkot worth Rs 232.50 crore

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani digitally laid foundation stones of several projects of Rajkot municipal corporation and urban development authority worth Rs 232.50 crore at a function at Pramukhswami auditorium, Rajkot on Tuesday.
The projects included Rs 118-crore light house project under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna for municipal corporation through e-draw, Rs 67.63 crore for urban development authority, Rs 37.60 crore and Rs 9.18 crore miscellaneous projects.
Speaking on the occasion, Rupani said that Gujarat government is carrying out various development works, like housing, health, drinking water, hygiene, transport, education despite passing through critical time due to coronavirus.
Development works worth Rs 30,000 crore were dedicated during the last 18 months.
Even as Gujarat government is successfully fighting the second wave of the pandemic and is ready for likely third wave, he said, the administration is trying to vaccinate 3 lakh citizens daily.
Rajkot mayor Dr Pradip Dave, standing committee chairman Pushkarbhai Patel, municipal commissioner Udit Agrawal also spoke on the occasion.
Those present at the function included Gujarat Municipal Finance Board chairman Dhansukhbhai Bhanderi, MPs Mohanbhai Kundaria and Rambhai Mokaria, MLAs Govindbhai Patel, Lakhabhai Sagathia and Arvindbhai Raiyyani, deputy mayor Darshitaben Shah, prominent citizen Nitinbhai Bhardwaj, collector Raiyya Mohan, police commissioner Manoj Agrawal, RUDA CEO Chetanbhai Ganatra, corporators and office-bearers.
