Ahmedabad: In a written statement before the Gujarat High Court in connection with litigation of public interest (pill), the state government stated that 37.42 lakh Gujaratis took Rs 252 Crore between June 24, 2020 and 28 June 2021 due to violations of mask rules.
According to Affidavit, Ahmedabad registered the highest number of 6.63 lakh cases of violations of mask rules that were fine RS 53.21 Crore paid to city police.

It stated that the state police distributed 57.45 lakh masks between March 25, 2020 and June 28, 2021.
Police officers said that other than the mask was fine, they had also recovered around Rs 101 crore fines from people who wandered in a year.
In the end, the offenders, on average, paying RS 1 Crore fine every day in both violations do not wear masks and open open with night vehicles in one year in one year.
Gujarat police also registered cases of 5.13 lakh violations of social norms which included meetings at weddings and social events.
