Gujarat: Defiant Police Continuing E-Pay Protest

Ahmedabad: Even though refinement opens to speak in public about the issue of paying classes, many police continue to raise their voices on platforms like WhatsApp on Monday.
On Saturday, the Director General of Police Additional Police (Law and Command) Narsimha Komar has issued a circular that prohibits every adverse social media post about this issue.
Using the black ribbon and “Maha Andolan Police” in their WhatsApp status, several constant police, assistant sub-inspectors, and the level of sub-inspectors from Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar demanding a salary increase from the existing 1,800 Rs.
The police have demanded a grade salary of Rs 2,800 for Consulles, Rs 3,600 for police chief, and Rs 4,400 for assistant sub-inspectors.
The police have also demanded off weekly off, paid leaves in accordance with the seventh salary commissions, the time of work is still around eight hours, and permission to form trade unions.
At present, the state has the Association of IPS officers but not other police including the assistant commissioner.
On Saturday, Komar has released a round to all SP offices and commissioners to ban the use of social media to show protests.
But many police ignore circular and continue to use protests.
A police officer from Bubaagar, Hardik Pandya, went a step further.
He tried to actually sit in a protest at the Secretariat in Gandhinagar, where he was detained by the local crime branch.
A police officer from Kanbha, who posted about protests, said that the police had no luxury to do Dharna and stay away from work.
The Minister of State for Harsh Sanghavi’s house told reporters that the problem was being discussed and had not been decided.
He spoke at the launch of the Cybercrime City Police website.
