Gujarat: Emri’s call plunged to 2,000 of 64,000 peaks

Ahmedabad: For EMRI 108 services in Gujarat, a April-May spike Covid-19 made a kind of record when a daily emergency for Covid itself skyrocketed to 64,000.
At its peak, the ambulance gives around 24-36 hours of waiting.
A month later, the total case of everyday has reached 2,134, with Covid-19 cases conveying 88 calls.
But the total analysis of the call received by Emri 108 in June revealed another trend – non-covid emergencies also dropped significantly, in such a way that it was dipped under the pre-covid time of normal call volume.
According to Emri officials, the 27th day of June recorded 57,635 calls, an average of 2,134 daily calls.
To place a figure in perspective, in February this year – when Covid cases were very low – daily calls were 2,762, recorded a 23% decline.
For pre-covid years, the average daily call is 3,500 to 4,000 in Gujarat, a senior official said.
Wise issues, related to breathing recorded a drop of 38%, followed by 35% of the decrease in heart emergency, and each 26% in emergencies related to pregnancy and vehicle trauma compared to February figures.
Jashvant Prajapati, COO from Emri Gujarat, said that two possible reasons were fewer approaching formal medical arrangements or not utilizing ambulance services to reach the hospital.
“Citizens became very careful and could avoid going to the hospital except that an emergency absolute – which did not happen before.

JP Modi, a medical supervisor of a civil hospital, said that compared to the peak of Covid, the daily OPD in the hospital has increased to 1,500-2,000.

Dr.
Bharat Gadhvi, President of Ahmedabad Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (AHNA), said that with sauce in the case of Covid, the planned operation and OPD had returned in almost all hospitals when footsteps increased.
