HardSell technical courses in universities are fulfilled and get handsome incentives of Rs 13,000-20,000 per student in return.
One of the private universities in North Gujarat recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a consultant to help them register more students in a diploma and degree engineering courses.
“To register a minimum of 70 students in the Diploma Engineering Student, the consultant will be paid by RS 13,000 per student while the incentives to register up to 40 students will become RS 18,000 per student and Rs 20,000 per student to recruit more than 40 students,” MoU rang.
To get students in the MSc course, the consultant will be paid an incentive of RS 5,000.
Many SFIs have reportedly taken this route to improve their student registration as a large number of college struggles to survive after more than 50% of the degree engineering seats remain empty.
The restrictions on the famous institute that attracted students to achievement, other well-exposed universities were given cold shoulders by students who chose to study in SFI in other states.
By 2020, 58% of 64,087 engineering seats have remained empty.
In 2019, 57% of seats remained empty while in 2018, 52% empty seats.
“This is the problem of survival.
If we get more students who pay more than the cost of Rs 1 Lakh, the Commission for a decent agent,” said a private university official who has signed the MoU with a consultant for higher reception.
This year because of mass promotion, there will be 54,000 grade 12 groups of groups against engineering seats 65,000 degrees.
Experts say SFI sees great opportunities to fill their classrooms and strengthen their backs.
Janak Khandwala, President of the Gujarat State College Management Association, said the high number of students through class 12 is expected to throw a lifeline to college to survive.
“Many SFIs are known to have signed a mous with consultants to get them students.
It is part of a college that works extra to encourage more students,” Khanwala said.
Provost Parul University and former representative Chancellor of Gujarat University Mn Patel said this university has employed agents to recruit students and have helped them get students from all countries.
“Last year, against the target of 11,000 students, we got 13,000 students.
This year, we expect 15,000 students,” Patel said.
Officials said that agents were also recruited to maintain the welfare and inns and boarding needs of certain countries.
