Teachers demand that if the state government wants the main teachers to work for eight hours according to the provisions in RTE, they must also consider the provisions below the RTE which states that the teacher cannot be assigned to teach.
The teachers stated that the break was not counted in an 8-hour workshift regardless of the fact that they had to care for children.
The teachers reported an hour earlier than students at school and left school one hour later after students.
Teacher Federation Gujarat said that if primary teachers are considered equivalent to other government employees, including college teachers, he must consider that they all get a mandatory holiday on Saturday, which is not granted by major teachers.
