Ahmedabad: In the emotional search for a lifetime threatened by Covid-19, a wife moved the Gujarat High Court on Monday night begging that her husband’s sperm, who fought against the battle against Coronavirus into a life support system, was preserved.
The woman, along with her husband’s parents, moved by a court with an emergency request said that the hospital had told them that the 29-year-old child might not live more than a day.
He urged the court to say that he wanted his protected biological material so he could be a mother for his child later using assisted reproductive technology.
Parents patients support their wishes.
After hearing the request, the Gujarat High Court on Tuesday aimed Vadodara Hospital to preserve Covid-19 patient sperm which was dying as he was looking for by his wife.
The hospital initially refused his request because the patient was not in a condition to give approval.
He did not realize and support life after being beaten by organ failure.
Pending assisted reproductive technology bill stipulates that sperm cannot be obtained without his consent.
Hospital management insist on court orders in the absence of agreement.
The family rushed to court through Nilay Patel’s advocate.
The family looks for directions to the medical expert concerned to collect and save sperm according to medical advice.
Lawyers asked the court to hear this case immediately and justice Ashutosh Shastri agreed.
It was conveyed that patients had been accepted since May 10 and the doctors had submitted to the family that he might not survive even for a day.
The court said that if this case did not deal soon, it would create a situation that could not be changed.
The court gave permission to collect patient sperm and ordered the hospital to preserve it.
However, the court does not have permission to continue with artificial insemination until further orders.
The court tended to hear this case again on Thursday.
