Rajkot: Duo of the sons and two natives Uttar Pradesh was arrested in Amreli District for alleged trying to smuggle weapons.
Local Sleuth Crime Branch (LCB) has received specific information that they will meet in a hotel near Jaswantgadh in Amreli-Babra Road to attack the weapons deal.
As soon as four reached the hotel, the police arrested them and recovered one revolver, two states made and 86 cartridges worth Rs 5.5 lakh.
Those who were arrested were Haresh Pandya (50), his son Manish (22), Jaypal Singh Chauhan (39) and Anjan Singh Kushwaha (33).
Pandya lives in Chittal village while his son remains in Amreli.
They have a factor for producing ‘chakkdas’, tricycle popularly used in Saurashtra.
RK Karamta, police sub-inspector, LCB, said Jaypal Singh and Kushwaha, who is a native, running a roadside food connection.
“We suspect that they get weapons for sale here every time they travel up,” Karamta said.
