Ahmedabad: Flamingo, Treason, Eagle, Yellow Green Merpati, Ibises, Kuntul, Comb Duck, and General Crows and Merpati are among birds saved after injured by kite lines.
The State Forest Department saves more than 2,700 birds on Friday and Saturday while NGOs tend to be more than 2,000 birds.
The majority of injured birds are pigeons and crows.
This year the number of injured crows is higher than the number 2021.
The forestry department official said that overall more birds hurt this Uttarayan than before.
Officials said that the forestry department saved 2,703 birds which were 2,494 saved.
The state government has launched Abhiyan Karuna every year to save the birds from the Manja Killer.
This campaign aims to save birds that sustain injury during Uttarayan throughout Gujarat.
This campaign runs from January 10 to 20.
This initiative includes 44 medical centers run by NGOs.
In addition, 10 control rooms, 129 collection parts, and 13 cellular vans were pressed to services in the Ahmedabad district.
More than 2,079 volunteers, including 161 veterinarians, participated in the project.
The State Forest Department official said that on Uttarayan Day, 1,021 birds were injured and the number was almost 1,700 on Saturday.
Therefore more injuries are recorded on Saturday than on the Uttarayan festival day.
Kartik Shastri from Jivdaya said that his own trust saved 1,145 birds until the afternoon on Saturday.
Shastri said that this year was a high injury despite a covid limit.
