Gandhinagar: Presenting the Union budget on Tuesday, UNI Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman indicates a new encouragement that is updated for the Damanganga-Petrol project, par but-narmada.
Sitharaman revealed that the center would expand all possible support for the implementation of projects as long as each state government reached consensus on the same thing.
“Draft Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been completed.
After consensus is reached among beneficiaries, the center will provide support for its implementation,” added the Union Finance Minister.
In the past, the Gujarat and Maharashtra government had failed to reach an agreement on sharing the river water through both water sharing agreements signed again in 2010 when Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi was the Minister of Gujarat and Ashok Chavan was Maharashtra CM.
Previously, the Gujarat government had shown conditional readiness to share Air Narmada with Maharashtra.
The neighboring country agreed to share river water passing from Maharashtra to Gujarat.
However, Maharashtra did not approve the condition placed by Gujarat.
Gujarat has represented that Maharashtra must first agree to share more water but have the source in Sahyadris in Vidarbha.
Only then would Gujarat entered the dashed line to give more water from Damanganga to the Link Link, which would be used to satisfy Mumbai thirst.
The Damanganga-Petrol link imagines the transfer of surplus waters from the Damanganga basin available on the Bhugad and Khargihildam sites proposed to the retribes reservoir to increase the water supply to larger Mumbai.
All three reservoirs will be connected through the tunnel.
The flushing dam is on the opposite loan in Basin Vaitarna, and supplies water to Mumbai.
Par-but-Narmada links will mostly benefit Gujarat, while the Damanganga-Pawpal link will help Maharashtra.
