Gandhinagar: The core committee for Covid control has decided to relax the curfew with two hours on Monday (August 30) night to facilitate Janmashtami celebrations throughout the state.
The curfew will be applied from 1 morning instead of 11 nights on the night of August 30.
There will also be a relaxation of one hour at night during Ganeshotsav which will be celebrated from September 9 to 19.
The night curfew will be applied from midnight to 6 in the morning during Ganeshotsav, the government announced on Tuesday.
Night hours are valid from 11pm to 6 in the morning in eight big cities Gujarat, including Ahmedabad.
No more than 200 people will be permitted at the temple for Janmashtami on Monday night at a certain time.
The worshipers will be asked to stand two feet apart each other.
The core committee also decided that the Janmashtami procession will be allowed on a limited route with a maximum of 200 people.
Janmashtami Fairs and `Matki Fod ‘The event will not be given permission this year, the core committee decides.
A maximum of 15 people and one vehicle will be allowed to immerse the Ganesha idol.
