Ahmedabad: On Friday, Gujarat completed the recovery of 10 Lakh Covid patients, reaching the overall recovery rate of 88.3%.
The rest, 1% consist of patients who have died and 10.7% are active patients.
Of the total, the Ahmedabad district contributed 3.1 lakh or 30% of Covid’s total recovery so far.
In the estimated population of 6.5 crore for Gujarat, the number reached 1.5% of the total population, experts said.
Gujarat recorded 101 deaths of Covid patients in the last four days.
From this, 33 or a third of the deaths come from Ahmedabad only.
With 19,000 cases in the last four days, this places a mortality rate of 0.2%.
For the third day in a row, the everyday case at Ahmedabad showed a decline.
Of the 5,303 cases on January 25, it fell to 5,248 on Wednesday, then 4,405 on Thursday and 4,046 on Friday.
But the city still accounts for one third of the Gujarat daily case.
The country recorded 12,131 cases on Friday.
Cases in the hospital have also dropped, according to the Ahmedabad Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (AHNA).
There were 116 patients in the isolation ward, 99 in a high dependency unit, 35 in Icus and 24 on the ventilation bed.
Cases in a civil hospital floated around 110, the authorities said.
Of these, around 50% are needed oxygen in several forms.
Active cases in the Ahmedabad district decreased to around 38,000 from the peak of 52,000 on January 23.
The overall active case in Gujarat was 1.07 lakh, a decrease from the peak of 1.35 lakh on January 24.
