Ahmedabad: Two days after the Supreme Court brought the state government to carry out the task “trying to surpass his direction” for the disbursement of compensation to Kin Covid-19, the Gujarat government on Saturday issued two notifications for ease of disbursement of Rs 50,000 EX Gratia for Covid’s death.
Significantly, notification by the Department of Health & Family Welfare clearly stated that the Covid-19 case was established as a cause of death both through a positive Death or RT-PCR certificate or another test before the 30 days of death will be called death due to Covid.
If there is a difference, the Covid-19 death committee (CDAC) will approach each hospital to speed up the process to get the required documents.
Other notifications by the Revenue Department stated that RS 50,000 compensation will be disbursed from the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF).
According to the notification, the district collector is appointed as a nodal officer for the process mandated to complete the process within 30 days of receipt of the application.
On Thursday, Jim and Justice B V Nagaratha ordered the Gujarat government to simplify its procedures for confidential compensation between the families affected by Covid.
The bench has been looking for responses from the State Authority on November 22.
Referrals have asked the government to take improvement steps and come out with a clear formula / notice so that the amount of compensation ordered by this court is paid to the early and the early and without further abuse.

“The number is less because one condition is followed by the state to ensure Covid’s death – the person should not have other comorbid health conditions.
Older patients and many young patients also have several comorbidity including hypertension and diabetes,” said a public health expert.
“It would be interesting to see how many applications were made and examined under the compensation scheme.
Some do not bother getting a death certificate with ‘covid’ mentioned in it because of stigma attached to it.
Also, there are no benefits announced.”
