Gujarat: Saurashtra waist blessed with rain gifts

Rajkot: Rain-deficit SauraStra Beripersi in wet spells that are very much needed when heavy rains pitted several districts in the region on Wednesday, carrying a pause for farmers who stare at the damage of large plants.
The city and district of Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Botad, Junagadh and Amreli District were tied by significant rain accompanied by a storm since Wednesday morning.
At least six people died in the incident related to the rain reported from Palitana Taluka and Jas and Rajkot Bhavnagar.
As many as 60 villages in low areas in Rajkot, Amreli and Bhavnagar District were flooded with flood warnings because the rain continued to produce rivers and rivulets that flowed to the bank.
In the city of Rajkot, the cloudy sky since morning gave way to a thunderstorm and rain at 4pm, leaving the majority of the main roads that were very flooded in about 15 minutes of rain.
Smarl large traffic was reported from many regions along with power outages in almost half the city which made residents frustrated.

According to the police, two boys who worked as farm laborers died of electricity in Pratappur Village Jas and Taluka from the Rajkot district.
The deceased, identified as Sunil Davra (15) and Arun Kherhaiya (12), is a native of Madhya Pradesh.
In Junagadh Maliya Hatina Taluka, a woman identified as Durga Bhil (50) sank when she went to take a shower in the water that overflowed due to rain.
The Aji Dam and Bhadar overflowed with the former filled with water Narmada with a Sauni scheme in the last five days.
Most of the amreli, which contributed significant peanut production, was filled with heavy rainfall with Babra who received the highest 130mm followed by Khambha (101mm), Dhari (77mm), Lathi (55 mm) and Bagasara (46mm).
Dhatarradi-1 and 2 overflowing dams and warnings are heard in 10 villages.
The Khodiyar Dam in Rajula Taluka was 96% full and 47 villages of Rajula, Gariyadhar and Palitana in Bhavnagar Regency were warned.
According to sources, some state highways in Amreli District were closed for traffic due to flooding.
In the botad district, buffalo died of electric shock and Jain’s temple was damaged due to rain and lightning.
In the Junagadh district, Manavadar Taluka received the highest 130mm rainfall was followed by 100mm in Visavar and 65 mm each in Besan and Maliya.
Sutrapada Taluka from the Gir Somnath district receives 138 mm rain which is 90 mm noted in two hours.
Kutmen Kutch also recorded significant rainfall, especially in Mandvi and Nakhatrana Talukas.
