Ahmedabad: Gujarat on Sunday reported 10,150 positive cases of fresh coronavirus, raising the calculation of infection to 9.26.240, the state health department said.
With eight Covid-19 deaths, one of the highest victims in the past few months, the number of deaths rose to 10,159 in Gujarat, the department said in the release.
Of the total eight deaths, two were reported in Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Bhavnagar.
One death was reported from the Vadodara district and but, he said.
On January 13, Gujarat had reported more than 10,000 cases for the first time in eight months earlier.
A total of 6,096 patients were dismissed on Sundays, which increased the total number of recovery so far in Gujarat to 8.52,471.
Gujarat is now left with 63,610 active cases.
83 patients are in the ventilator, the department said.
At 3:315, the Ahmedabad district reported the highest number of new cases in Gujarat, followed by 2,757 cases in letters, 1,242 in Vadodara, and 467 in Rajkot.
As many as 1.38 people were inoculated against Covid-19 on Sunday, taking the total number of doses given so far in Gujarat to 9.47 crores.
A total of 66,648 beneficiaries in the age group 15-18 also received a dose.
The dose of preventive measures was given to 14,716 people on Sunday.
The Union Dadra and Nagar Haveli region, Daman and Diu reported 36 new Covid-19 cases and 18 recovery during the day.
UT already has 10,988 cases where 10,763 has recovered.
UT is now left with 221 active cases.
The death toll from Covid-19 stood at four, officials said.
