Ahmedabad: While vaccinations have been opened for the age group 15-18 years, many schools in the city have stepped further, and made mandatory jabbed for students who want to attend classes directly.
The state government is closed to care for class 1 to 9, and the presence of classes is optional for grade 10 to 12.
For the past month, more than 1,500 school children are tested positive for Covid-19 in Gujarat.
Some schools also choose to do only online classes.

On the other hand, the guardian of the school students said that central or state guidelines did not say that vaccination for students must be made mandatory.
Many schools witnessed 70-80 percent of their students who were eligible for vaccinated, after Covid immunization was opened until the 15-18 year age group on January 3.
