Ahmedabad: While vaccinations have been opened for the age group 15-18 years, many schools in the city have stepped further, and made mandatory jabbed for students who want to attend classes directly.
The state government is closed to care for class 1 to 9, and the presence of classes is optional for grade 10 to 12.
For the past month, more than 1,500 school children are tested positive for Covid-19 in Gujarat.
Some schools also choose to do only online classes.
King Pathak, Wali Satva Vikas School, said, “In line with government guidelines, we have made it mandatory for students who want to attend direct classes to vaccinate.
This is to encourage maximum coverage in the 15 to 18 year group.” On the other hand.
, the guardian of the school student said that central or state guidelines did not say that vaccination for students must be made mandatory.
Many schools witnessed 70-80 percent of their students who fulfilled vaccinated requirements, after Covid immunization was opened until the age group was 15-18 years on January 3.
