Ahmedabad: The famous Shiva temple in Somnath City in the Veraval district has seen his donuts soaring in the month of Shravan, exceeding the contribution of pre-covid levels in the same period.
So, even when footsteps have fallen at this time compared to the Moon of Shravan in 2019, donations have surged into Rs 6.50 Crore, from Rs 6.41 Crore in 2019.
“There are still a few days for the end of the month, and we hope that the contribution to reach RS 7 Crore at that time.
This year in the moon celebration of Shravan, we have seen 9 feet of lakh which is much lower than 25 lakh in Shravan 2019, “said Vijaysinh Chavda, General Manager, Somnath Temple Trust.
Pre-covid, the temple saw the average Rs 4.5 Crore to Rs 5 Crore from a monthly contribution with the month of Shravan contributing the highest number.
On Monday, around 45,000 worshipers visit the temple.
Somnath’s temple was the first between the twelve Aadis Jyotirlings in India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is Chair of Somnath Temple Trust.
The post has fallen emptiness earlier this year after the death of BJP Strongman and former Chief Minister Gujarat Keshubhai Patel.
The existing temple, considered seventh, was built in the style of Kailas Mahameru Prasad and the first Deputy Minister of India.

His son, Design Chandrakant Sompura was adopted by Shri Ram Janmabhomi Teerth Kshetra for the construction of a RAM temple in Ayodhya.
