Letter: A new spider species found in Girnar Wildlife Sanctuary has been named after the 15th century the holy poet Narshinh Mehta.
Scientists, who found a new species, named it Palpimanus Narshine in an effort to perpetuate the poet recognized “The specifically dedicated nickname for the poet Santo Big Narshinh Mehta.

A research paper, which illustrates a new spider species, has recently been published titled “A new species and a new combination in Palpimanus Dufour, 1820 from India (Aranei: Palpimanidae).” It was written by Dhruv Prajapati, from the Center for Research and Development, University of Bhrathiar, Coimbatore), Namrata Hun from GEER Foundation, Gandhinagar) and Jatin Raval.
This paper was published in the journal Arthropoda Selecta.

The genus Palpimanus Dufour embraces currently 35 species apply in the world and the majority of them are known from Africa, Southeast Asia and the Mediterranean.
Only one species of this genus, namely P.
Vultuosus Simon is known from India.
“This species is depicted based on women, without illustrations, ” said researchers in their papers.
Researchers have stored specimens in the reference collection of ecological Gujarat and Educational Research (GEER) Foundation in Gandhinagar.
According to a research paper entitled ‘Spider of Gujarat: A initial checklist’ published in 2017, as far as 415 spider species under 169 Marga and 40 families have been reported from Gujarat.
“Of the total spiders recorded from Gujarat, the analysis shows that there are quite a number of endemic species represented in the state.
