Ahmedabad: Many big temples in Gujarat have decided to stay closed for several days given the increasing number of cases of Coronavirus.
From this, Ranchhodraji Temple at the Dakor and Shyamlaji Temple will remain closed for one day on Monday.
This, because the temple authorities expect a big rush on the opportunity for ‘punam’ prop.
Ravindra Upadhyay, General Manager of Dakor Temple, said that the decision to cover the temple for worshipers on Monday was taken after the Covid-19 situation.
“Nearly 2.50 Age Lakh is expected to arrive on Monday, and therefore this decision is taken.
All rituals can be attended online,” he said.
Shyamlaji Kanubhai Temple manager Patel said that more than 15,000 worshipers were expected to visit the temple on Monday.
“The more cases of Covid-19 have encouraged us to cover the temple for worshipers for one day on Monday,” Patel said.
Dwarkadhish Temple will remain closed because worshipers from January 17 to 23.
Mukesh Pandya District collector said, “To reduce the rush of worshipers and remember the situation of the pandemic, the temple will remain closed to worshipers until January 23.” Mehsana Collector Oudit Agarwal said that around 50,000 worshipers were expected to visit the Becharaji Temple on Luck Day ‘Punam’ on Monday.
“Given the situation of the pandemic, the temple will remain closed because worshipers from 17 to 22 January,” he said.
The Ambil Temple was announced earlier that it would remain closed for worshipers until January 23.
