Ahmedabad: In the last seven days, Gujarat reported 79 cases of omicron variants from Covid-19.
Of these, 37 cases or 47%, have no travel history.
While most cases come from contact with the confirmed omicron case, some have not reported the contact.
Of the 37, 16 cases or 43%, come from Ahmedabad city alone.
Gujarat in 24 hours ended 5 pm on Monday adding 16 new omicron cases, taking the calculation as far as 152.
With debit 85 patients, the active omicron case was established in 67.
The state has so far not recorded the death of omicron patients.
According to Statistics of the State Health Office, 16 cases Monday, 11 from urban areas and 12 were men.
Of the total, 12 has a history of international travel and four do not have a history of travel.
By Monday, Ahmedabad City is now at its peak with 57 cases of Omicron, followed by 25 in the city of Vadodara, 17 in the city of Letter, 15 in Anand City, eight in Kheda, six in Rajkot and five in the city of Gandhinagar, among others.
“On average, patients are testing negative in one to two weeks.
The protocol requires two consecutive negative reports.
The majority of these patients are asymptomatic while some report mild symptoms such as fever, coughing and body pain.
No one needs oxygen so far,” said an official of the senior state health department.
