Ahmedabad: Torrent Power Limited (TPL) has tried to pick up charges of regulations for two years from electricity consumers in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and letters to restore their past contributions.
However, private sector companies have not proposed an increase in Power Power rates for the financial year of 2022-23.
TPL has proposed to pick up charges of regulations 22 Paisa per unit from consumers in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.
For letters, the cost of regulations that seeks to be collected is 17 Paisa per unit, stating the company’s petition for the determination of power rates for fiscal 2022-23, which was submitted with the Gujay Electricity Regulation Commission (GERC) on Monday.
The company has demanded to demand this Levy regulation for a period of two years to restore its past fees.
The company estimates the lack of RS 349.18 Crore’s revenue for Ahmedabad and Rs 108.74 Crore for the letter supply area.
This income gap mainly results in the recent years account under recovery.
Therefore, the company has been looking for the regulator permit of state power to collect a regulatory charge from April 1, 2022 for a period of two years with the adjustment of the costs needed due to the delay in recovery, added power distributors.
If approved, TPL consumers must remove more to power their consumption.
“While the increase in base base rates continue to remain valid until further revised, the demand for regulatory costs by the company is for a limited period of two years, after that it is stopped,” explained the person in the power tariff.
Torrent Power has also proposed a ‘green rate’ at the level of 50 Paisa per unit in the license area.
It can be mentioned here that Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) managed by the state (GUVNL) affiliated with four power distribution companies has refrained from raising power rates for fiscal 2022-23.
