Bridgewater: A gunman shot and killed two campus officers at a private university on Tuesday, pushing the lock to protracted and looked before the suspect was arrested, said the state police and school officials.
The stall began in the afternoon when Bridgewater college officers sent tweets in commemoration of students and faculties about shooters on campus.
College sends a follow-up tweet around 2pm that said the police had arrested a suspect after searching for campus but students must continue to take refuge in place.
A news photographer caught the image of the suspect who appeared to be arrested, lay face to face on the ground because more than half a dozen law enforcement officers approached with a withdrawn weapon.
The college gives everything clear around 4:30 a.m.
There were no other injuries reported.
At the press conference on Tuesday night, a spokesman for the state police officer Virginia Corinne Geller said that the shooting took place shortly after campus officials responded to reports of a suspicious man on campus around 1:20 a.m.
He said that after a short interaction, the man fired a shot at the clerk, shot them and fled on foot.
The two officers gave up on their wounds at the scene.
Officers from the state and local law enforcement agency then joined the search and found suspects from campus.
He wondered the river and was detained on an island on the river, they said.
The suspect, Alexander Wyatt Campbell was 27 years old, was treated for a gunshot wound that did not threaten the soul.
Geller said that it was not clear whether he received a wound in exchange with the police or if it was done alone, and he was treated for it.
Campbell was charged with first-rate murder, the killing of police officers, the murder of many people, worsened the murder of many people within three years and had firearms in the crime commission, according to the release of the State Police News Virginia.

Geller said he did not know whether Campbell had a lawyer who could speak in his name.

Bridgewater College is a private liberal arts college located around 125 miles (200 km ) Northwest Richmond.
Historically affiliated with the Church of the brothers, the school has a registration of around 1,500 full-time students in the fall of 2021, according to its website.
