Gurgaon Boy develops applications for autistic children

At an early age, Arya Debnath 12 years old from Gurgaon is accustomed to the silence around it, because he struggles with the problem of delay in speech and autistic spectrum disorder, which makes communication difficult.
Interest in coding helped him develop an application to help other autistic children like him.
Considering Arya has a talk challenge, her mother, Anamica Sengupta, speaks on her name for the time of education.

Education and Autism
“Even today, regular educators attend the basic program for autistic children, without distinguishing one student from another.
Unfortunately, in many cases, autism is equated with intellectual disability,” said Sengupta.
“Last year, my mother found a first-class option offered by Whitehat Jr.
I finally had a teacher who accommodated my needs at my speed,” said Aryan.
Gradually, the teacher began to understand his speech and pushed it in his idea.
“I used to write my ideas, because verbal communication was difficult,” said Aryan.
Help others
When Arya began working on the coding platform, she conveyed to her mentor the need to develop an application to overcome the problems faced by people with any defects.
“Internal competition requires us to solve real life problems, which are then followed by building related applications.
My idea to develop optical-friendly applications that will help patients with autism win my fourth prize in the competition,” said Aryan.
About creation
From his own experience, Arya was able to show the majority of problems faced by autism in their daily lives.
“The main problem is the lack of communication and social skills.
Thus, visuals become important because this helps us communicate better,” he said.
In the ‘Companion’ application, Aryan has developed a calendar that helps children with autism and caregivers understand and adapt to their daily schedule.
This application also has emotional cues to help users express themselves.
“If a child suffers emotionally, this application helps him mock him for caregivers.
Also, some autistic children are truly non-verbal and cannot request water or permission to use small rooms.
This application helps these children too,” he said.
Aryan has also developed a visual library, where he has uploaded images that cover everyday needs.
“If a child wants to watch a movie, visit the restaurant or meet a doctor, he can use related images from the library to communicate with their caregivers,” he said.
The important part of this application is feature in danger.
“Suppose a child feels insecure, he can turn on the danger button accompanied by a siren so that the people around him will know that something is wrong.
There is a tracking feature to help parents track children,” he added.
Future plan
Arya’s focus is to adjust the application to make it better.
“I want to combine cameras in the next version.
Sometimes, in public places, autistic children face insults or intimidated.
In such cases, one click will activate the camera, and can record the event.
In the case of guardians seeking legal assistance, They can present recordings, “he said.
Aryan hopes to release an improvised application version soon.
This application will soon be available on the IOS App Store, told Aryan.
