Gurgaon: Commissioner MCG along with officials of regional transportation authorities (RTA) visited the electric vehicle zone proposed on Tuesday.
The proposed location for this e-Vehicle zone includes MG Road Metro Station, IFFCO Chowk, downtown Huda, Galleria Market, Cyber City to Golf Course Road and Subhash Chowk.
“We visited the proposed location to check the eligibility of the e-vehicle zone setting.
We will soon announce a schedule to launch e-rickshaws that replace Diesel cars.
We have checked the charging points and parking lots arranged by the concession holder,” said an MCG official.
Officials from the body of Civic said that a meeting would be held soon to complete a schedule so that the auto diesel replacement plan was implemented in sequence.
The number of charging stations in the e-vehicle zone can be increased or reduced based on needs.
Government agencies will also increase awareness and require diesel car owners to switch to electronic vehicles.
In the second phase, the traffic police will confiscate auto diesel.
The Civic Agency in the Meeting on April 6 announced that the automatic diesel driver that will switch to e-rickshaw will be given their registration certificate within 72 hours by RTA.
In addition, officials say that those who dispose of their diesel cars as a memo to the concession holder appointed by MCG, subsidies will be given.
Minister Haryana Chief Manohar Lal Khattar at the complaint committee meeting held in December 2019 announced that more than five years old auto diesel would be replaced by e-rickshaws in the city.
