Gurgaon Gurdwara Association offers space for Namaz

Gurugram: The local Gurdwaras Association on Wednesday announced that it would open the door to allow Namaz with the number of sites for Friday prayers had shrunk by almost half in the city due to protest with right-wing clothes and several locals for several weeks.
Gurdwara Singh Sabha The Gurugram Committee, which has five gurdwaras affiliated with it – in aware of Bazar Sabzi Bath, Sector 39 (near Medanta), Sector 46, Jacobpura and Town Model – said it would approach the administration to allow permission to give NAMAZ permission in a small group without sacrifice the Covid protocol.
“It is very disturbing to learn about opposition to Namaz in open area.
Our Gurdwara doors are always open to everyone.
If Muslims face problems in finding places for Friday prayers, they are welcome to offer Namaz in Gurdwaras,” said Harry Sindhu from the committee.
He said that while every Gurdwara had the capacity to accommodate thousands of people at a time, they only allow small groups of covid norms.
Sher Dil Dil Singh, another member of the committee, said a gurdwara was a “darbar train teacher” where anyone can come and pray.
“If our Muslim brothers face problems, we will offer them our place in Gurdwaras and their hall,” Singh said, added that they would welcome anyone who wanted to pray, regardless of their faith and belief.
Last Friday, the number of open sites where Namaz was offered in the city down from 37 to 20, which was effectively reduced to 19 after protests at Sirhaul against the use of public places for prayer.
Welcoming the initiative of the Gurdwara Association, Khurshid Rajaka, Chair of the Muslim Rashtriya Manche, said it would help build peace and harmony.
“Everyone must take inspiration from the Sikh community and help people from other religions carry out their religious activities without hostility,” Rajaka said, added that there were examples in the past where Muslims had offered Namaz in religious communities.
Altaf Ahmad, one of the founders of Gurugram Muslim Council and Gurugram Nagrik Ekta MANS, said he and other Muslims in the city appreciated the “friendly offer” from the Gurdwara Singh Sabha committee.
“This is a true example of brotherhood where people from various religions have advanced to defeat divisive troops who have spread communal hatred and disharmony in the city for the past two 2 months,” Ahmad said.
The day before, a Hindu man had offered a small commercial room to the Muslim community for Namaz.
“I am sure that more and more people throughout the community will advance to offer their personal property where Muslims can pray every Friday for 30 minutes,” Ahmad said, added that he hoped the government Haryana would admire and allocate land to the earliest Muslim for Mosque so they can “pray with dignity”.
