Gurgaon: City Air Quality Index (AQI) continues to remain in the “severe” category for the third day in a row on Sunday.
However, there was a slight increase in the air with AQI fell from 456 on Saturday to 419 on Sunday.
With the increase in wind speed, the air will increase from Monday but AQI will live in the top class ‘very bad’ in the next two days, according to the state pollution control agency Haryana (HSPCB).
On Sundays, the average wind speed increases to 8 km / h from 6km / h on Saturday.
Wind speed is only 3 km / h on Friday.
Officials said that the streets were doused throughout the district to reduce dust pollutants in the atmosphere.
“Pollutants have spread due to sustainable efforts from civilian bodies.
The team ensures the mechanical sweeping and water sprinkling on the road.
We also patrol day and night to ensure that no bio waste burned in the district,” said Kuldeep Singh, regional officers, regional officers, HSPCB.
On Sundays, three of the four air monitoring stations in Gurgaon recorded AQI in the ‘Severe’ category.
Aqis in Sadan Vikas, Teri Gram and Gland Pahari 426, 449 and 433 respectively, sector 51 recorded AQI from 368 in the ‘very poor’ category.

PM2.5 and PM10 levels are recorded in four air monitoring stations higher than the limits permitted by 60μg / m3 and 100μg / m3 respectively.
Teri Gram records the highest PM2.5 level of 446 μg / m3 while the PM10 level is 374μg / m3.
GLUL PAHARI is close to his heels with 432 μg / m3 PM2.5 and 330μg / m3 PM10 level.
Meanwhile, in Sadan Vikas, the PM2.5 level was 415 μg / m3 but the PM10 level was not recorded and in the 51st sector, PM2.5 was 350μg / m3 and PM10 282 μg / m3.
According to the Indian Meteorology Department (IMD), Gurgaon records a minimum temperature of 14.7 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 26.2 degrees Celsius on Sunday.
Low temperatures prevent the spread of pollutants in the atmosphere, air quality experts said.
The same trend was observed in Delhi who recorded AQI 428, Noida with AQI 446 and Ghaziabad with AQI 455, all in the ‘severe’ category.
According to the air quality system and weather forecasting and research (Safar), the stump burned PM2.5 spiny from 41% on Saturday to 48% on Sunday.
Experts say that wind speed and direction and significant number of fires since Saturday have prevented recovery in AQI despite medium wind speeds.
