Gurgaon: Covid-19 vaccination in the city reached an important milestone on Wednesday after the revision of the decline in the estimated population that qualified for a shot.
Officially, seven and a half months after the launch of national vaccination, the city’s first dose coverage is now 100%, which means that the entire population is qualified for Jab Covid has now received at least one dose of each.
Revision reduced the estimated number of recipients through the lakh up to 16.32 lakh from the previous target of 17.46 lakh.
However, on Wednesday (September 1), the total number of first doses given in the city was 17.03 lakh.
Chief Medical Officer Dr.
Virender Yadav said he expected 3-4 lakh the first dose given and the total number of doses given in Gurgaon ultimately crossed the 40 lakh mark.
Additional doses are being associated with floating populations working in the city but do not live here or migrants who have moved to the city to work but do not officially increase the population because there is no local registration such as aadhaar card with a gurgaon address or registration on the voter list.
“We have given a total of 24 doses of lakh in Gurgaon so that 17.21 lakh is the first dose.
There is a floating population here and a large number of people who have migrated from other cities.
We aim to cross 40 vaccination to cover the total population mixed, “said Dr.
Yadav.
Based on the 2011 census and decadal growth rate, the total population projected by Gurgaon was 26.3 lakh, including a population of 18-plus 16.32 lakh.
If someone takes a previous estimate, the first dose will only lack 99%.
This is all, however, indicative numbers.
The numbers on the ground can and will vary.
But estimates are important to plan vaccination strategies in the future, such as whether to focus on the second dose and vaccine stocks that will be needed for the next few months to ensure everyone receives a timely dose.
According to a new projection, which was circulated on Wednesday, the total population of Haryana was 3.03 crores and a qualified population for Covid vaccination was 1.9 crores.
“We have taken decadal growth rates to calculate the estimated population,” said Dr.
Virender Ahwawat, state immunization officer.
“Because there is no data about the population that eligible for Covid-19 vaccination, we previously treated all populations projected as qualified.
But now, we have calculated that 60% of the population projections of each district are eligible for vaccination.
This data More authentic because the General Commissioner and the Indian Census of Registrar also calculated the population projected by using decadal growth rates, “added Ahlawat.
He said the country would use this data as a benchmark for now.
“If there are more scientific surveys or reports, we can adopt it,” he said.
Based on the current projection, Haryana’s first dose coverage is 64% of the second dose coverage of 22%).
After Gurgaon, the second dose coverage is 43%, the district that has the best dose coverage of the best now is Panchkula (92%) and Ambala (92%).
Faridabad’s first dose coverage was 80% but Noah continued to lay an ear at 20%.
JIND (43%), Palwal (49%), Panpat (51%), Aperar (52%) and Kaital (54%), the dominant district of rural, also has a low first dose coverage.
“The rate of vaccination has seen a steep increase in Haryana in the past two months.
We aim to provide the second maximum dose now,” Ahlawat said.
