Gurgaon: After continuing the operation on two routes to increase connectivity with the newly developed sectors, Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) has restored operations on the third route from Monday.
Initially, only two buses will operate on Route 111E, which connects the Metro Sector 55/56 station with the sector 70A, at a frequency of 40 to 50 minutes, officials said.
The route was launched in January last year but the operation on it was stopped in March when a locking was imposed throughout the country due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Furthermore, services have never been continued on routes because of low legs, officials said.
“The route was not too successful before, and then came a pandemic.
So, the service was stopped and we were on the fence about continuing the bus service on this route.
We have no problems in providing bus services anywhere but if footsteps are low, it doesn’t make sense To run an empty bus, “said a senior GMCBL official, added that the locals had approached recently to continue the service on the route.” Having only a day because the operation has been continued.
It still has to be seen how many passengers really use service times This, “the official said.
According to GMCBL, the route connects the sector 55/56 metro station – the last of the metro station quickly – to the BPTP Astaire Gardens in the sector 70A, running throughout the entire extension of the golf course in the process and provides connectivity to several commercial spaces, including Spaze Corporate Park, Vatika Professional Point and Splendor Trade Tower, as well as residential communities including Gading Tulip, Primanti, and Nirvana State.
“Initially, only two buses will operate on a route of 12 kilometers at a frequency of 40 to 50 minutes.
The number of buses can be increased then depending on the number of passengers,” officially added.
Locals say bus services will not only provide alternatives that are cheaper and more comfortable for travel but also reduce dependence on private taxis.
“Newer sectors have very limited transportation for residents, although there are around 10,000 residents here.
In general, people only have one vehicle at home so that when other family members have to come out, there are problems.
The cabin also charges the amount of money Excellent.
The bus will benefit the population from an economic perspective.
It will be a convenient travel mode because people already know the bus time and can track their location through the application, “said Ajay Sharma, a resident of Tulip Gading in Sector 70, said.
Abhishek Sharma, a resident of Saket, who went to the extension of the Golf Road to work several times a week, said, “I usually take the Yellow Line Metro to Gurgaon, turning to Metro Rapid in Sikuypur and then take a taxi from this sector 55/56 Metro Stations to the office I.
Taxis only cost more than Rs 350 every day and, during rush hour, securing someone to be very difficult.
This bus service will allow me to take the same trip in Barely Rs 50.
The bus frequency is concern but because I am almost half an hour To get a taxi from my office during rush hour, I wouldn’t mind waiting for another 10 minutes.
” In September, GMCBL had continued a bus service on the route 135b, connecting the Chowk IFFCO metro station and sector 82, and route 116 which run between Rajesh Pilot Chowk and Daultabad.
Services on both routes have begun after reports in TOI which focuses on the lack of strong transportation systems in the newly developed sector.
