Gurugram: A total of 13 buildings built in violations of sealed building norms and internal floors were destroyed on the second day of driving demolition in the DLF-3 area on Friday, city officials and state planning (DTCP) said.
Also, 11 stores built on housing plots were destroyed by law enforcement teams, he added.
The Demolition drive was carried out in Blok S and U DLF-3 with the help of 50 workers and two earthmovers.
As many as 100 police personnel were deployed in the area to prevent unwanted incidents.
On Thursday, the DTCP enforcement team has dropped the illegal floor of 10 buildings and 12 stores in U block DLF-3.
DTCP officials on Friday explain to property owners that because this illegal structure can lead to major disasters, their removal and restoration must be suitable for the norm.
Speaking with Toi, District Town Planner (Enforcement) Batth Hospital said the demolition and sealing drive will continue until October 15.
He said eight floors were destroyed and sealed in Block U and five on the DLF-3 block on Friday.
The population, he said, has been directed to remove the parts built illegally in these buildings themselves.
“This illegal building is proven to be dangerous in the event of a disaster.
Apart from this, it burdens the infrastructure and causes discomfort for other residents,” Batth added.
Ashish Sharma City Assistant Planner said that the DLF-3 population committee was established to oversee illegal construction on plots intended for homes in the category of economically weaker parts (EWS) in licensed colonies, but failed to overcome threats.
