Gurugram: A 30-year-old man who works as a cook in sector 50 people on Thursday was arrested for allegedly stalking a woman in a flat side and dropped a letter in the door, offering to give him a body massage.
In his police complaint, the 34-year-old professional said he would find someone staring at him every night when he entered the kitchen to get water.
He said he initially ignored it, believing he could be wrong, but the letter he received on August 30 confirmed his worries.
According to the woman, the letter said: “I give a very good massage …
you get so much, I am poor.
You can give me money for a massage and I will make you happy.” The letter was filed to the police.
In the letter, the cook, Pawan Kumar, who was originally from above, said he had supervised the woman for the past three months’ in the kitchen and knew that he lived alone.
The letter ended by saying the agreement between the two must remain a secret.
The woman said she was very angry when she read the letter.
Even though at first he was hesitant to take the problem, he then complained to Rwa.
When he checked CCTV recordings with the help of several residents, he was surprised to learn there was no record he came to his place.
“The man realized what he did and took the trouble to climb the external ladder to reach my house because it was the only way he could avoid CCTV cameras.
Only someone who is familiar with the structure of society that can do this,” he told TII.
Previously, the cook used to live in the same multi-floor building with the woman.
But about three or four months ago, he had shifted to the adjacent building and worked as a permanent cook for a household.
The place where he lives now is three floors above the woman’s flat.
The woman said she could not sleep at night after receiving the letter and kept throwing and turning on her bed.
“I feel insecure in my own room.
I’m not even sure who the person is,” he added.
The woman first watched that something was wrong about 20 days ago, when she felt staring at someone every time she walked into the kitchen.
“I dispersed it, thought because most people worked from home, someone might be deep in mind and didn’t look at me.
But when I read the letter, I immediately connected the points,” he told Toi.
On the basis of the woman’s complaint, a FIR was filed at the Sector 50 police station under the IPC 354D section (stalking) on Tuesday.
The cook was arrested on Thursday from home where he worked.
Sho Rahul Dev said the man claimed he had “watched every woman’s movement”.
The woman said she had lived alone for the past 12 years but never felt very unsafe.
He has installed a CCTV camera outside the door and in his kitchen now and the RWA guard was also posted at the entrance of the house.
However, even though the community had forbidden, the woman was worried about her safety because the man came out with a guarantee.
“Today this happened to me, tomorrow it could happen with others.
The man must at least be given a more stringent penalty,” he said.
