Gurugram Corpn to target the absence of large property taxes

Gurugram: In an effort to generate more income, the additional Commissioner of the MCG Vaishali Sharma on Monday directing officials to accelerate the recovery of property tax contributions and do other income generating exercises such as the issuance of trade licenses.
Zonal tax officers have been directed to identify the defaulter of the first property tax with more contributions than Rs 1 Lakh and recover the same thing from them.
Toi on December 10 reported that the MCG looked at the income approach, with only four months left in this financial year.
“We will present notifications for property tax generators with more contributions than Rs 1 lakh and give them 10 days to pay.
If absent fail to clean the contribution in the specified time, the property will be sealed.
I have also directed zonal tax officials to submit a weekly recovery report , “Sharma said.
The additional commissioner also directed officials to compile the Property Survey Survey Data on 3.
MCG officials were also told that the missing contact details must be updated in the survey data on December 31.
He also directed the official at least to visit 10% official from the trading license applicant site.
Civic’s body estimates to generate RS 1,235 Crore income from property taxes only in the current fiscal.
However, MCG so far can only recover only Rs 128 Crore.
Likewise, MCG only received Rs 2.8 Crore from the approval of the building plan in the past nine months by opposing the estimated income of Rs 10 Crore for Fiscal 2021-22.
