GURUGRAM: A guy was robbed of Rs 35,000 plus a golden string later having a lift from Rajiv Chowk on Friday.
He had been waiting for public transportation to get a trip to New Delhi if the accused came at a cab and also offered to drop him in his destination.
The episode had been an indication that the lift-and-loot group has again been active in Gurugram.
This is the second such episode in the last week.
The group targets individuals awaiting transportation onto the Delhi-Gurugram expressway at the late night hours.
Somdata resident of Bhondsi, was awaiting a bus in Rajiv Chowk when a cab came close to him and provided a lift.
Four individuals, including the driver, were inside the cab.
The driver told me he had been on his way to Delhi and then offered to drop him.
Somdat consented to board the cab.
After crossing Sukhrali, the accused snatched his cash, some jewelry and his cell phone at gunpoint.
“They robbed me threw my cell phone.
Afterwards, they pulled me from the cab near Jharsa chowk,” explained Somdat, including he repeated minor injuries and also with the support of a passerbythat he was able to call law enforcement.
According to his own criticism, a case was filed under section 379A (snatching) and 34 (common intention) of IPC in Shivaji Nagar police station.

In most such events, the accused provided a lift to individuals awaiting transportation onto the Delhi-Gurugram expressway.
In the Majority of the cases, the victims have been chosen out of IFFCO Chowk and Rajiv Chowk.
Authorities had bused several gangs at 2019.
But, fresh gangs have dipped in Gurugram.
“The lift-and-loot episodes stopped after we’d detained several gangs.
However, new episodes are reported and we’re keeping tabs on these.
Our teams are all working to monitor the accused,” said ACP (offense ) Preet Pal Sangwan.
