Gurugram: A family allegedly cheated by the Gurugram-based Packers-and-Movers company they recruited to move to Kerala from Noida.
The company has convinced to send furniture within 10 days but allegedly submit it more than a month later only after the police intervened.
According to Linda George, a complainant, they have paid Rs 40,000 to the logistics and swepting drive in Ashok Vihar to move their furniture to Kerala on July 31.
While RS 37,000 was paid on July 31, the number of balances must be paid on shipping, in accordance with the agreement.
The company, the word complainant, has convinced to provide within 10 days after pickup but failed to do it even a month later.
The damaged furniture was finally delivered to the family after they approached the police.
Most of the items were damaged and one, they said, missing.
The police said FIR had been submitted in the 5 Gurugram sector under the IPC Sections 420 (cheating and dishonestly encouraged the shipping of property) and 406 (penalty for violations of criminal trust).
“The defendant, One Suresh Kumar, is a fraud.
During the probe, we have found that every time the company will receive large orders, they will shift their company location to another place,” KiranPal investigative officers said.
Kumar, police said, has emptied the Gurugram flat where the company operates and also does not pay rent for several months.
