Gurugram saw 2 omicron cases again, both were fully vaxxed

Gurugram: Two other cases Omicron were reported in the city on Tuesday that from a 31-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman.
According to the Ministry of Health, the two residents have travel plans and have been tested themselves before flying to other parts of the country.
The man was tested positive for Covid on December 21 while the woman was tested positive on December 17.
Their samples were sent for genome sequencing, which confirmed Omicron in both cases on December 26.
The patient does not have the latest travel history or contact with other people with other positive people for Omicron, said health officials.
Both are fully vaccinated, one with Covaxin and the other with covishield.
Both ended their house isolation on Tuesday, said Rajeev Arora, ACS (Health), Haryana.
“We have sent 2% positive covid samples to sequencing genomes in the city.
The new two cases are asymptomatic.
They have been tested negative now.
The tracking of their contacts has been done; no one turned out to be positive,” said Chief Medical Officer Virender Yadav.
This is the third omicron case of Gurugram so far.
On Sunday, a 30-year-old man was confirmed as a covid patient the first city that would be infected with a variant.
He is currently in the center of isolation in Sector 67.
Meanwhile, Faridabad also reported the fourth omicron case on Tuesday that a 37-year-old man who had returned from Nigeria on December 10.
He was found negative at IGI airport but turned positive after a repeat test on December 17.
The sample was then sent for genome sequencing and was tested positive for Omicron on December 26.
The Ministry of Health said patients did not show symptoms and in house isolation.
The wife and three children have also been tested positive for Covid and the results of their genome sequencing awaited.
So far, Haryana has reported 14 cases of Omicron – six of Gurugram, four of Faridabad, three of the yamunanagar and one from Panchkula.
Of this amount, seven are active cases.
This includes all three Yamunanagar cases – a 30-year-old man and his 32-year-old wife who returned from the Netherlands and their contacts, a 33-year-old woman.
Everything is asymptomatic and currently recovering in the center of isolation.
The Panchkula case, a 23-year-old woman who returned from the US on December 15, was also accepted at isolation facilities at Oja Hospital.
He is also asimptomatic.
Apart from the man who returned from Nigeria, another Faridabad case was a woman who was someone’s aunt who had returned from Canada.
The woman, who was recovering in the hospital, did not show symptoms.
The first reported case of Gurugram is the only thing that is currently active.
