Gurugram: Spotlights, Digital scoreboard for Cricket Stadium in Devi Lal Complex

Gurugram: High-level matches can make a comeback to the Cricket Stadium in the Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex with the Gurugram (GMDA) Metropolitan Development Authority that works on an increase plan to install LED spotlights, digital scoreboard, and land level.
Inaugurated in 2003, the stadium was initially managed by Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda), which is now known as Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP).
In 2018, it was handed over to GMDA.
Until 2008, he held several Indian Cricket League matches (ICL) and first-class tournaments, including an international one day of women’s cricket.
At present, stadium spotlights do not meet international standards and it cannot be chosen as a place for matching matches, officials said.
“The stadium is currently used for government training participants and holds functions, such as the event on January 26 and August 15, and is suitable for associations for blind and free deafness.
If the stadium is developed, the corporate sector will arrange tournaments here which will help generate income.
Apart from That, we can also expand the invitation to hold IPL matches and even international matches, “said a senior GMDA official.
The goal, the official said, was to ensure that the stadium was used.
This proposal was first discussed at the Core Planning Cell Meeting of GMDA (BPK) last month.
On Tuesday, the expression of interest for the approved project, officials said, added that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sudhir Rajpal had directed that feedback was sought from the public regarding the project by providing a “wide publicity” before the offer was invited.
This problem is likely to be taken at the next authority meeting.
“The government procedure is a little long, but we try to complete the formality in the first week of January.
After the work starts, it will take 15 days to complete,” said GMDA official.
