Gurugram: A police officer Haryana allegedly committed suicide on Monday morning by hanging himself from an electric wire in a dilapidated building near the Bahin police station in Palwal.
Inspector Mohammad Iqbal was transferred to Bahin from the Kithwadi police station just the day before.
However, people who are close to officers claim that Iqbal is often “harassed” by its senior and often transferred.
The police said Iqbal had gone to take a morning walk on Monday but did not return, follow the empty field which was sent to look for it.
One hour into the search, one of them found him hanging in a quiet building.
“A day ago, he joined the assignment in Bahin.
We also have a word.
But on Monday, he did not return from the streets to attend the parade at 7 in the morning.
I have asked the police to check where he is,” said Ratan Deep Bali, DSP Hathin.
However, Bali denied claims that Iqbal was harassed.
“He is not a new thing in this service.
He has served around 25 years.” Initially from Ferozpur Zirka in Noah, Iqbal joined the police Haryana in 1995.
Sho was the only breadwinner from his family, and survived his wife and five children .
“There was no pressure on Iqbal from the domestic front, and we were surprised to know about suicide,” his uncle, Sahabuddin.
