PANAJI: Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds, reaching around 60kmph, lashed the nation on Wednesday, uprooting trees throughout the country as well as causing a slight landslide in Curca, police said.
While no injuries or deaths have been reported, pumped trees destroyed several homes and automobiles.
Strong storms caused a freak crash in Ponda after metal roof sheets of a construction obtained dislodged and turned into a vehicle on the street.
In Orlim, the rain brought a newly constructed path to fall.
The tiled walkway has been constructed by Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation.
The heavy rains have washed out damaged streets across the countries, slowing traffic down and resulting in snarls in certain parts.
IMD has stated that heavy to very heavy rain occurred at all places in Goa.
