GUV may not act like a BJP agent: Alagiri

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee, President K S alagiri on Tuesday criticized the Governor of Ravi for finding a report on the welfare scheme carried out by the state government.
Alagiri said the governor should not act like “BJP government agent” to help the Safron party get land in the state.
The governor can only function according to the guidance and recommendation of the Cabinet of State.
He could not act independently, said Alagiri in a statement on Tuesday.
Alagiri said the governor did not have the right to disturb or monitor the state government scheme and the functioning of the government department.
The move has “hidden motives and against the law,” he said.
He remembered the elimination of Governor Arunachal Pradesh in 2016 because it acted against the constitution.
He said the Governor of TN will face the consequences if he acts against the constitution with a hidden agenda.
