Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has written a letter to the Head of Minister of Uddhav Thackeray, asks him to receive the demands submitted by the leader of the Opposition (LOP) Devendra Fadnivis.
In the letter, Koshyari said that the BJP delegation led by Fadnavi visited Raj Bhavan on June 23 and submitted two memorandums for their demands.
The governor informed that the BJP delegation had demanded that the assembly session must be carried out for a longer period of time.
The two-day monsoon session from Maharashtra’s legislature will begin on July 5 in the middle of the Coronavirus outbreak.
However, a brief duration of the session had left the opposition fuming, with Fadnivis alleged that Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) dispensation tried to “escape” from the problems of the general public and also from the democratic process.
Two other problems raised by the opposition are the post of empty assembly, and because they did not carry out local agencies because OBC reservation problems were still delayed.
The governor stated that the three topics were important for the state and asked the Minister of Chief to assess him about the actions taken to them.
On June 17, Thackeray had visited Raj Bhavan to extend the birthday greetings to BS Governor Koshyari.
The letter came amid the ongoing struggle for delays by the governor in the appointment of 12 members nominated to the legislative council.
