Guwahati: Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has continued to drive a trade license inspection in parror, salon, restaurant and bar in the city and collect around RS 50,000 from a business that operates without a valid trade license in just three days.
GMC Senior Medical Officer Dr.
Kumar Partha Pratim said the Civic body had collected around Rs 50,000 of the five unisex parrors, two beauty parrors and one bar-cum-restaurant in the last three days to operate their business without a trading license.
GMC has issued a notification to the owner of a business company, which does not have a valid trade license.
GMC on Sunday has published certain strict guidelines for spa, unisex parror and salon, which includes prohibitions with the opposite sex, in an effort to prevent illegal activities, which include alleged prostitution racquets, in the city.
Saying that certain guidelines have been set for salons and parlor to get a trade license, the GMC Devasish Sharma Commissioner said, “The rules have been set to prevent malpractic or illegal activities after receiving many complaints from civil society.
To get a trade license, the owner must comply with the guidelines.” GMC has forbidden therapy or massage with the opposite sex in the salon or parcel.
GMC has ordered to make the main door from the parror or transparent salon from now onwards.
According to the new rules, no salon or living room can have an exclusive room or room in it.
